This page explains a few important things about bismarcklandscape.com: who does the work, how to read the prices on this site, and why our guides are general information. Please read it along with our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Who Does the Work
Bismarck Landscape connects Bismarck-area homeowners and businesses with landscaping services. The work may be done by independent local landscaping, tree care, sprinkler or snow removal professionals. The professional who does your job is responsible for doing it according to the written estimate and for holding any license the work requires, such as the City of Bismarck commercial arborist license for paid tree pruning and removal.
Always ask for a written estimate before work starts, and ask for proof of insurance if it matters to you.
Prices Are Estimates, Not Quotes
Prices on this website come from published market data, such as LawnStarter, HomeBlue and Homeyou cost guides, and each one is labeled with its source and date. They help you plan a budget. They are not quotes, offers or promises.
Your real price depends on your yard’s size, soil, access, materials, timing and other details. You only get a real price from a written estimate after the property has been seen.
Our Guides Are General Information
Our guides and FAQ answers are written to help Bismarck, Mandan and Lincoln homeowners make better decisions. They are general information only. They are not:
- Legal advice about city ordinances, permits, the emerald ash borer quarantine or contracts
- Tax or financial advice
- Engineering advice for retaining walls, grading or drainage near foundations
- Pesticide application instructions. Always follow the product label, and use a certified applicator where required.
Rules, prices and conditions change. We date our pages and update them, but before acting on something important, check with the right authority or a qualified professional.
We Cite Public Agencies but Aren't Part of Them
Our guides cite sources like NDSU Extension, the City of Bismarck, the City of Mandan, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, NOAA and Iowa State University Extension, so you can check our information yourself. Bismarck Landscape is a private business. We are not part of, and are not endorsed by, any of these agencies or schools. Their rules and advice belong to them, and their websites have the final word.
Dates and Weather Are Typical, Not Promised
Frost dates, snowfall totals and seasonal timing on this site, like the last spring frost around May 12 to 14 or the first fall frost around September 20 to 25, are typical values. Weather in any given year can come earlier or later. Watch your local forecast for time-sensitive jobs like sprinkler blowouts.
Safety Comes First
- Call 811 before you dig. Under North Dakota’s One Call law, anyone digging, including homeowners, must call 811 at least 48 hours before they start. Underground lines are marked at no cost to you.
- Stay away from downed wires. If a tree or branch falls on a wire, stay back and call 911 or your utility company.
- Leave big trees to licensed pros. Tree removal near houses and wires is dangerous work.
- Use ice melt and lawn products carefully, following the label.
